The bands current drummer is Matt Cameron, also of Soundgarden, who has been with the band since 1998. This deluxe, hardcover book with a custom protective box provides 130 scores of every song from the Pearl Jam albums Ten through Lightning Bolt. The top winner of the night was producer and songwriter Babyface, who took home Grammys for Best R&B Song (“Exhale”), Record of the Year (as a producer on “Change the World”), and Producer of the Year. On May 10, Pearl Jam and Hal Leonard will release Pearl Jam Anthology The Complete Scores. The 39th Grammy Awards were quite interesting due to the lack of a major sweeper (4 or more awards). Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men – “One Sweet Day” Michael Jackson – HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I Winner: Alanis Morissette – Jagged Little Pill Seal’s “Kiss From A Rose” won both Record and Song of the Year. Shockingly though, Morissette lost Best New Artist to Hootie & the Blowfish.
Morissette was the biggest winner that nightc taking home 4 Grammys. Produced by Josh Evans and Pearl Jam, the new record marks the band’s first studio album since Grammy award-winning, Lightning Bolt, which was released on 15 October 2013. So, it makes sense that the Grammy’s chose a more refreshing pick: Alanis Morissette’s iconic album, Jagged Little Pill.
This year was the first year with committees in the General Field categories, largely due to backlash over nominations looking too old-leaning the past year, with wins for artists like Tony Bennett in AOTY.
